PRIVACY POLICY

  1. Overview

    1. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to the collection, use, protection and sharing of an individual’s personal data (hereinafter defined) arising from accessing our websites https://www.brownriceparadise.com or https://www.mybrp.com.sg/ (“Sites”) and/or by using our Services (“Services”) provided by Brown Rice Paradise and/or our affiliates and our partners (“Brown Rice Paradise”, “we”, “our” or “us”).

    2. We put forth this Policy because we want you to be aware of the information we collect and help you make an informed decision about using our Sites and/or Services. By visiting the Sites, linked pages, features, content, or using any of our Services, you acknowledge and accept the practices and policies outlined in this Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, you may not access or otherwise use our Sites or Services. This Policy does not apply to any third-party websites, services or applications, even if they are accessible through our Sites.

    4. By using our Sites, you agree to allow us to collect or use your information in an appropriate manner in accordance to the Personal Data Protection Act of Singapore.

  2. Updates to Policy

    1. We reserve the right to revise, amend or otherwise update this Policy at any time. Any continued use of our Sites and/or Services after the amendment of this Policy is deemed acceptance of the amended Policy by you. If you do not agree to the amended Policy, you have the right to stop using our Sites and Services.

  3. What information do we collect?

    1. We collect the information you enter on our Sites when you subscribe as a member, create an account, engage in a transaction, place an order, search on our Sites, contact us by telephone, email, or otherwise. Please note that we may collect personally identifiable information (“PII”) from the Sites only when you choose to provide it to us.

    2. We use this information to correspond with you and as otherwise permitted by this Policy. The information collected may include:

      1. Your contact information, such as your name, email address, password, residential address, or telephone number;

      2. Your payment information, such as credit/debit card information, billing address, and other billing information; and

      3. Your favorited items, cart, subscription and purchase history.

    3. Please note that certain information, personal data and content which you may submit to us are likely to reveal your age, gender, residential address, race, nationality, and/or other demographic information about you.

We may collect certain additional information when you access the Sites including your device type, unique device identifier, mobile operating system, site navigation, and other usage-specific data. When this data is collected, it is analyzed periodically to help us create a more user-friendly and improved shopping experience on our Sites.

    2. Your email address and telephone number may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your orders, subscription status, marketing and/or informational-related messages. You may wish to opt-out of marketing communications either by setting your email preferences or notifying us at contact@mybrp.com.sg.

  6. Sharing of information

    1. We may share information we collect with our third-party service providers and other third parties that we engage to help us administer and provide our Services and to perform tasks on our behalf and we share your information with such third parties when it is needed for such purposes.

    2. We may use your PII, as provided by you through the Site, to contact and correspond with you and/or to respond to your inquiries.

    3. We may share aggregated, anonymized, and Non-PII with our business partners and/or any other third parties (for example, suppliers, vendors, partners or connected sites) for industry research and analysis, and other purposes.

    4. We do not sell your PII to third parties or mass marketers.

    5. We may, at our discretion, include or offer third party services on our Sites. Information that you provide on or to a third party services or that is collected by a third party services is provided directly to the owner or operator of the third party services and is subject to the owner’s or operator’s privacy policy and practices. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked websites.

    6. We may disclose information about you if we are required to do so by law or legal process (such as a court order, legal process, governmental agency or otherwise); in response to a request by law enforcement authorities; or when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical, financial, or other harm, injury, or loss. However, this Policy is not intended to limit any objections or legal defenses you may have to a request to disclose your information by a third party or government.

    7. We may also transfer the information we have about you in the event we sell, merge or transfer all or a portion of our businesses or assets (or initiate and pursue reorganization, bankruptcy, dissolution, or liquidation), or take steps in anticipation of such transactions. In such event, all the data will continue to be governed by this Policy.

  7. How information is protected

    1. We implement reasonable measures to protect your information through a variety of safeguards designed to help protect the information we collect and store against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use.

    2. We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your credit card details will not be stored on our servers. For processing of future payments, if you have given us your approval, your credit card information will be stored in an encrypted format in the secured servers of our payment gateway service providers.

    3. No method of protecting information is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Therefore, we suggest that you take certain reasonable steps to protect your information. Start by safeguarding your own account username and password and not sharing that information with anyone. It is preferable that users update their password periodically and follow conventions for choosing a secure password. If users are concerned about misuse of their identity within the Sites, or are using a shared device, users should make an effort to log out as often as necessary. We will never ask for your password via email and users should report any such inquiry.
